It has been some time since we have had a plus size documentary centering on the fashion of the plus size industry, the people who make it happen, from the community, by the community. Laquinta Davis, also known as DivaBigg, is here to change that with her Fat IS Fashion documentary!
If you are not familiar, DivaBigg is a body positive company. DivaBigg centers around three divisions: apparel, modeling and show production. Through their slogan, “My FAT is My Beauty”, they work daily to push that mindset in the women they mentor and the people they serve.
LaQuinta Davis has sought out influential figures across the plus size fashion industry from near and far to take part in this event and this documentary. Each cast member shares their story from the perspective of their role in the industry.
The cast for Fat Is Fashion is a who’s who in the plus size fashion scene. For this documentary, we hear from 18 plus size industry professionals, from FFFWeek creator, Gwen DeVoe, fashion designer, Jasmine Elder of Jibri, and even our EIC, Marie Denee!
